PAINTED FURNITURE AND CABINET FINISHING CLASS

Three Day Course                   Artist: Sher Galeotti

Are you looking for an outlet for your creative imagination? Why not create furniture with an attitude? This comprehensive furniture course will teach you to create beautiful, functional works of art. Learn to re-purpose that tired piece into an old world antique or sleek functional art and design custom pieces using tried and true methods. We will unravel the tricks to making your own custom pieces from unfinished furniture.

We cover the preparation of wood, laminates, and other materials. You will learn design, and refinish, then create a functional object. Study the colors that go with different techniques, which styles exemplify different periods or cultures, and the overall process of converting an undesirable piece of junk furniture into a sale-maker.

Students will create samples of each technique on wood boards or polystyrene boards. Distressed wood, crackle, handmade stonewashed stains, metallic waxes, ever popular animal designs, wood graining, stenciling, imbedded designs, and much more will be created on the appropriate surface. There will be emphasis on finishing cabinets. Decorative artists who can finish cabinets are in great demand. These designs will make a beautiful addition to your portfolio.

Hand painted furniture is sold in many specialty boutiques. It brings high prices and is in demand throughout the United States. It is time for you to be a part of this financially and personally rewarding home based business.

Makevover Countertops, Floors, & Cabinets

Are you tired of outdated countertops, floors, or cabinets? The cost of replacing just the cabinets alone could be $10.000 or more. There is a better way. With the new chemistry of today’s products and the experience of trained persons who have make a lucrative business by flipping houses, anyone with a desire can make these beautiful but less costly improvements.

In this class, the student will learn how to refinish that ugly laminate to resemble granite, marble, or a sleek metallic finish. You will be taught how to prepare vinyl flooring for the look of stone, metallic wax , or even leather. Extending the life of laminate counters, cabinets, or floors without the high cost of replacement is guaranteed with the knowledge in this class. It will save your or your client up to $25,000 for a small kitchen. Whether you have a “Designed to Sell” home or a do-it-yourself project, or a job for a client, this class will give you the skills to do a professional job.

Some countertop solutions, such as concrete overlays, add thickness which will create a whole new set of problems with regards to sinks and built-in appliances. Our process does not add problems. The materials used are technically advanced, very hard, and durable acrylic coatings that are environmentally friendly.

The key to a long lasting finish is the use of high tech primers, acrylics, and clear top coats. There is no yellowing with these products and no toxic smells. The colors available are limitless. We will be concentrating on colors that are modern and classy but the student will not be discouraged from venturing off into his or her own creative color palette.
